HC to Telangana: Hold GHMC polls before Jan 31

Telangana Government has got relief from the High Court as the court extended the duration till January 31 to hold Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. Earlier, the Court issued orders to the government to schedule the GHMC elections by December 15 but with the TS government putting forth its request for more time, the request was granted.

As the voters are linked to the Aadhaar card, to eliminate the fake voters in the voters list, a delay may take place in the finalization with December 15 as the deadline argued the state government's lawyers. The Court after listening to the arguments, directed that the election process should be completed by January 31.
