A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday directed the counsel for the Telangana to place all details on the steps taken to extend services by Dr BR Ambedkar Open University and Potti Sriramulu Telugu University (PSTU) to the students of Andhra.

A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday directed the counsel for the Telangana to place all details on the steps taken to extend services by Dr BR Ambedkar Open University and Potti Sriramulu Telugu University (PSTU) to the students of Andhra. P Venugopal, Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh informed the bench that the government of Telangana had failed to implement the order of the court.

The bench while dealing with a batch of petitions filed by Prof P Chenna Reddy of Telugu University and a taken up matter with regard to extension of services to the students of the AP and transfers of staff of Potti Sriramulu University directed the Central government to settle the dispute between both the States within 8 weeks under Section 75 of the AP Reorganisation Act.

The bench had made clear that AP shall bear salaries of teaching and non–teaching staff working in study centres of both the varsities located in the AP from the month of August 2015 onwards. The judge directing the government of Telangana to make necessary submissions, adjourned the matter to Thursday.
