Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Telangana State unit, on Friday challenged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for an open debate on implementation of poll promises anywhere in Warangal Lok Sabha constitutency.

Addressing the media, BJP State president G Kishan Reddy said the State government was claiming that it had implemented 99.99 per cent of poll promises in Warangal district. But, there was no truth in it. He said the government had not even begun a single programme in the district.

The Chief Minister had promised the construction of double bedroom houses, multispecialty hospitals, universities, recruiting teachers, etc. But not a single promise was fulfilled, he said. Out of 139 total poll promises, the government had managed to begin work for 39 programmes and rest of them were in limbo, he added.

Kishan Reddy stated that the BJP would expose government's failure in every nook and corner of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency. He said the party leaders would stage demonstrations in every village in the seven Assembly segments.

He said the party leaders would explain the grants given to Warangal city by the Centre for including it in schemes like Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) and smart cities.

Commenting on the arrest of cotton farmers in the Adilabad district, Kishan Reddy ridiculed the State government's argument that the people who wore trousers were not farmers.
