Hyderabad: The official process for the division of employees working in the Telangana health department has remained a non starter though the minister had fixed the deadline to complete the process by October end this year.

According to health department officials, in Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Directorate of Public Health (DH) and Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) the division of employees has not yet started. However, in DME and DH wings the employees gave options for AP and Telangana.

The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGDA) which had taken a lead part in the Telangana movement are pressurising the government for division of employees. As many as 20 times we met the health minister Dr C Laxma Reddy for bifurcation of employees, said TGDA president Dr Putla Srinivas.

It was reported that at a meeting, Dr C Laxma Reddy got angry with the Principal Secretary of Health Suresh Chanda, Dr M Ramani, Director of Medical Education (DME), Dr Lalitha Kumari, Direcor of Public Health and Dr K Veena Kumari, Commissioner, TVVP for not initiating the process of division of employees. He set October 15 as the deadline of the division of employees.

Dr B Narahari, central executive member of TGDA alleged that the Head of the Departments were deliberately delaying the division process, even as the minister set the deadline. Since, June 2014 around 150 employees took retirement form the services. “I retired without promotion. My dreams got shattered as Telangana government was not taking serious steps for the division of employees” lamented a retired employee. The employees of health department expressed discontent over the Telangana government.
