Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi reacting to the Bihar Assembly elections results on Sunday said that the debacle of the BJP-Led NDA in the polls was a “personal defeat” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at his party office in Hyderabad, Owaisi said that his party’s poor performance was due to the party contesting in Bihar for the first time which is the reason they failed to gain the confidence of Seemanchal people.
He added that through the Bihar Assembly elections, their party was introduced to the people in the state. Owaisi stated that during his campaign he was told not only by the Muslims but also others that they had decided to defeat Narendra Modi and that things would have been different if MIM would have come earlier.
Owaisi congratulated Nitish Kumar and partners of the RJU grand alliance for the victory and said that PM Modi who got involved in a state election by addressing 35 public meetings faced personal defeat.
