Telangana Panchayat Raj Teachers Union Karimnagar President Paturi Raji Reddy on Sunday demanded that the State government should release PRC arrears in two instalments at the earliest.

He visited schools in Rajarampalli, Suraram, Maredupalli, Sanabanda, Chegyam, Muttunuru, Kapparaopet, Kishanraopet and others to enrol the names of teachers in the union. Addressing a meeting in this connection, he demanded that a 12-year automatic advancement scheme should be implemented for the Vidya volunteers from March 3, 2003.

The union leader told teachers to work out ways to improve the attendance of students as the government was planning to introduce English medium of instruction from next academic year. District unit general secretary Cholleti Srinivas, Mandal unit president Devi Ramesh, secretary T Kumar Swamy, leaders P Srinivas, M Srinivas, Pravin, Sattaiah, Srinivas and others were also present.
