Hyderabad: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has decided to train students of government junior colleges for Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET).

The Board officials noted that classes are likely to commence in the last week of January or in the first week of February. The Board intends to train the students in two phases i.e. before and after the Board examinations.

According to a senior official of the Board, students would be trained for one month prior to the Board examination and a month after examinations.

As about 402 government junior colleges are functioning in the State, the Board wants to open two to three coaching centres in a government

college in each district. However, the Board wants to hold training classes for interested students only.

“Only limited number of candidates will be enrolled in each coaching centre,” a senior official said.

To provide quality coaching, the Board has roped in subject experts to coach students in physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany and zoology.

Besides providing free coaching for EAMCET, the Board has also decided to provide free boarding and lodging. This decision would benefit about 20,000 students studying in the final year in government junior colleges.

Apart from this, the Board intends to conduct special coaching classes like last year for students who fail to clear Intermediate Public Examinations.
