Hyderabad: The Chief Election Officer and GHMC authorities, who boasted of scientific method in updating the voters’ list, have removed even CPI national secretary K Narayana and his wife P Vasumathi Devi from the list. Both the names have been removed from the voters’ list just because the house was found locked when the enumerators went there for verification.

Narayana told The Hans India that they came to know about the deletion of names from the voters’ list when they checked online www.ceotelangana.nic.in. The CPI leader has been living in that apartment in Basheerbagh, which falls under the Circle 9B of GHMC limits for several years.

“Due to busy schedule, sometimes we won’t be available in the house. My wife is a working woman. Being CPI's national secretary, I tour extensively across the country,” Narayana said. He alleged that the GHMC officials had deliberately removed their names from the electoral list without any prior notice.

If this was the case with a senior political leader what could be the situation of a common man, he said. The CPI leader said he would file a complaint with the Election Commission of India and the State Election Commission against the GHMC.
