Will take up Muslim quota issue with Centre soon: Dy CM

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali alleged that Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) was against the Muslims. Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, he said while the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre was adopting anti-Muslim policies, the Telangana government was committed to implement 12 per cent reservations to the Muslim community in the State.

Mahmood Ali asserted that Telangana government would take up the Muslim reservation issue with the Centre soon. The State government had constituted Sudheer Committee which has completed its study on the reservation issue, he said. “We are expecting the report soon and will take up the issue with the Centre,” Mahmood Ali added further.

The Deputy Chief Minister also announced that the State government would come up with a new revenue policy for which the government was holding talks with experts and top-level officials on 12 related issues, taken up to strengthen the department, he said.

He also warned of severe measures and penalties against RDOs and MROs if they failed to discharge their duties diligently to meet the people’s expectations. The government was also planning to save power by encouraging people to use LED bulbs replacing the present ones, he said. The government was planning to distribute four LED bulbs to each household, he informed.
