A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Thursday directed the Telangana government to maintain status quo with regard to land in an extent of about 230 acres in Ranga Reddy district belonging to the APIIC.

A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Thursday directed the Telangana government to maintain status quo with regard to land in an extent of about 230 acres in Ranga Reddy district belonging to the APIIC.

The bench of Acting Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale and Justice S V Bhatt admitted a writ plea filed by AP government the order of the Telengana State government seeking to retrieve the said land from APIIC.

In yet another instance of the twin states being locked in litigation Advocate General of AP P Venugopal pointed out that the land was allotted by APIIC decades ago at a fixed price of about 44 Lakhs per acer.

The Corporation had paid for the land in an extent of about 20 acres which was locked in litigation. The Petitioner government alleged that the Respondent Government had acted contrary to the provisions of the Reorganisation Act.

The petitioner sought a declaration that G.O.Ms.No.195, Revenue (Assn.II) Department, dated 29.10.2015 issued by the first respondent as illegal, arbitrary, violative og Articles 14,21 and 300-A

of the Constitution of India as well as contrary to the principles of natural justice and also being violative of provisions of the A.P. Re-organisation Act, 2014.
