AICC general secretary and Telangana in-charge Digvijay Singh on Monday made the locals watch him with wonder as he gulped down a few pots of toddy with élan.
Warangal: AICC general secretary and Telangana in-charge Digvijay Singh on Monday made the locals watch him with wonder as he gulped down a few pots of toddy with élan.
Digvijay Singh who met the leaders of Goud community on Monday afternoon at the DCC office as part of election campaign immediately accepted the toddy when the latter offered him. He also posed wearing moku (rope used to climb palm trees) and muttadu (belt) to appease the toddy tappers.
While expressing his fondness for toddy, he said, “The Congress will oppose any kind of move that hurts the livelihood of Goud community.” He also promised them to work for the uplift of the community. Alair MLA B Bikshamaiah Goud was also present.
Incidentally, Telugu Desam Party working president A Revanth Reddy, while addressing a public meeting at Station Ghanpur, reportedly said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was behaving like a monkey that had drunk toddy.
Meanwhile, the TRS leaders have made elaborate arrangements for the public meeting of Chandrashekar Rao in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.
