Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali on Tuesday launched Facebook page and Twitter handle (@coi4mus) of Commission of Inquiry on Socio-Economic and Educational Conditions of Muslims. The Commission has been constituted by the Telangana State government.

Speaking on the occasion of Advisory Board meeting here, Mahmood Ali urged the general public to support the Commission of Inquiry and the government by posting their concerns, views regarding the status of Muslims on the Facebook and Twitter platforms. It would help formulate policies for the upliftment of Muslim minorities.

He also congratulated and welcomed the newly-constituted Advisory Board comprising eminent experts for eliciting their views and suggestions on the approach, methodology and instruments to be used in the study “Socio-Economic and Educational Conditions of Muslims” under the Commission of Inquiry constituted by State government.

The commission is headed by G Sudhir, retired IAS officer, and consisting of M A Bari, Senior Lecturer (Retd), Dr Amir Ullah Khan, economist, policy adviser to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Prof Abdul Shaban, Tata Institute of Social Science.

The members of the Commission are Dr T Radha, Principal Secretary Backward Classes Welfare, Syed Omer Jaleel, Secretaty, Minorities Welfare, M J Akbar, Director, Minorities Welfare, Md Shafiullah, MD Minorities Finance Corporation and other officials from Department Of Minorities Welfare.
