CPI wants CBI to probe ASI graft case

Karimnagar: The Community Party of India (CPI) demanded the State government that they transfer ASI Mohan Reddy’s money lending case to Central Bureau of Investigation since several influential people were involved in the illegal finance business. The case is presently being dealt by CID.

In this regard, CPI district unit on Thursday wrote a letter to the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Releasing the letter to media here, party district secretary Komatireddy Ramgopal Reddy opined that though the case was being investigated in a positive direction by CID, there were doubts among the people as more number of people especially police officers who were involved in the crime have not been arrested so far.

There was no scope for the victims who mortgaged their land documents to get money and their documents till the case was completed, he said, and wanted the government to setup a separate court for early completion of the case.

On the other hand, Lok Satta asked the Superintendent of Police D Joel Devis to pass instructions to station house officers to register cases whoever comes with a complaint against Mohan Reddy and see to it that whoever threatens victims in the name of ASI be punished seriously.
