The issue would be taken to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and would be raised in the ensuing parliament session. The State government proved its commitment to the cause by passing a resolution in the Assembly, he said.

But MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga was misleading Madiga community on the issue. Instead of questioning the BJP, TDP and Congress, which were non-serious on the issue, he was targeting the TRS, the Deputy CM alleged.

The neighbouring AP government led by the TDP has not moved resolution in the assembly and the BJP, which during the 2014 elections promised to support SC categorisation, did nothing so far. ‘What is that the MRPS leader expecting to achieve by targeting the TRS,’ Srihari questioned.

Speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Thursday, he said during the 16 months of rule the TRs government has delivered many promises that were made to the public. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was committed for development of Telangana and would fulfil the remaining promises in the next three and half years.

The CM has plans to develop Warangal as a ‘Mega City’, work was being done in that direction, he added. MP B Vinod Kumar accused the BJP government at the Centre of discriminating against Telangana, referring to the allocation of houses under PM Awas Yojana.

Telangana was allocated only 10,290 houses in 10 cities while it approved construction of 1.93 lakh houses in 37 cities in Andhra Pradesh where the TDP in rule.

“Is this how the BJP wants Telangana development,” he sought to know while informing that on MSP to cotton the TRS would question the NDA government in the coming parliament session from the day one.

Party MP K Kavitha said the by-election was taking place because the CM wanted an experienced person like Srihari as education minister to implement ‘Free KG to PG Education’ programme. She refuted the BJP claims on working for Telangana development. The party leaders appealed the voters to elect the party nominee P Dayakar with huge majority.
