State told to respond on relief to acid victim

Justice P V Sanjay Kumar of the High Court of Hyderabad on Thursday directed the Telangana government to respond by Tuesday to a writ plea complaining that the government has failed to pay a minimum compensatory amount of Rs. 3 lakh to one T Hari Prasad of Khammam. The Petitioner is a victim of case of acid thrown.

According to the Petitioner in August 2012 the accused person who had earlier borrowed money from him visited him and threw acid on him. The Petitioner pointed out to a direction of the Supreme Court which require every State government to pay a minimum of Rs. 3 lakh to the victim of acid attacks.
