Unified master plan for Hyderabad

At present, there are five master plans in different formats: Old MCH area and HADA in Auto CAD, HUDA and CDA in hard copy and MDP-2031 in Geographic Information System (GIS).

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Thursday held a technology based workshop and has proposed to prepare a unified master plan on a single platform. At present, there are five master plans in different formats: Old MCH area and HADA in Auto CAD, HUDA and CDA in hard copy and MDP-2031 in Geographic Information System (GIS).

HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu said that the Municipal Authority has also proposed to use geo-reference system to rectify the master plan according to the ground condition, since all the previous plans were in different formats. A detailed review of

Master Plans with a view to find out any anomalies in between plan proposals and their geographical locations on ground has to be done.

Chiranjeevulu said that the Municipal Authority would prepare a plan to improve water supply, drainage, sewerage, road network and dumping yards in the entire HMDA area. The HMDA approved layouts and Change of Land uses (CLUs) would be incorporated during preparation of the integrated plan.
