Majlis Bachao Tahreek terms MIM Modi in mask

Hyderabad: The Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) questioned the silence of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leaders on the core issues concerning Muslims in Telangana State. Addressing a massive public meeting at Riyasat Nagar Market on Saturday night, MBT president Dr Khayam Khan accused the MIM leaders of working like agents of the BJP and Sangh Parivar across the country.

He alleged that the MIM leaders had mortgaged the interest of Muslim community for their personal gains. Despite getting elected from the Old City of Hyderabad for the last several decades, the MIM leaders were not willing to accept any responsibility for its backwardness, he said adding that its leaders had also compromised with the ruling parties – the TRS and the BJP to remain silent on core issues.

MBT spokesperson Majeed Ullah Khan announced that the MBT would field candidates in maximum number of wards in the forthcoming GHMC elections. He said people had realised that MIM was nothing but ‘Modi in mask’ and it would teach a fitting lesson to its leadership for its non-performance. He said the people of the Old City did not witness any development during the last few decades and the successive governments did not turn their attention towards the Old City due to their alliance with MIM.

Addressing the meeting, MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan said that the MIM leadership had remained silent on the Alair fake encounter, custodial death of a Muslim woman Rahmeea Bi in Doma Police Station and missing of her son Mohd Muqtar and the brutal killing of a poor rickshaw puller Shaik Hyder in Nizamabad one town police station and it even failed to get the enquiry report of the brutal murder of 11-year-old boy Shaik Mustafa in Mehdipatnam Garrison.

Amjed Ullah Khan said the MIM had remained silent on the TRS government’s failure to implement the promise of providing 12% Muslim reservation. He said that the TRS government should have provided 12% quota to Muslims in the ongoing recruitment drive. He said once these recruitment's were done, Muslims would not have an opportunity to get government jobs for the next few decades. The meeting was also addressed by Moulana Syed Taher, Syed Mustafa Mahmood, Altaf Naseeb Khan and others.
