Narayankhed: With the by-election to Warangal Lok Sabha seat being held, Narayankhed byelections has become the focal point for political parties. Sitting MLA of Congress Kishta Reddy died on August 25. Initially, the Congress tried to ensure that one of the family members of the late MLA was elected unanimously. But the ruling TRS was not inclined to leave the seat uncontested.

Narayankhed is considered the stronghold of the Congress as its candidates won 10 times since 1952. The constituency witnessed 14 elections. The Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has taken the responsibility of Narayankhed on his shoulders and he has been intensely campaigning in the constituency.

The theme of his assurance is that he would develop Narayankhed on the lines of Siddipet, if the TRS candidate is elected. Along with him, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Ministers Eetela Rajender, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Mahender Reddy and Laxma Reddy are also touring the constituency.

The Congress party has decided to field Kishta Reddy’s son Sanjeeva Reddy. It seems that he is left to plough his own furrow. The TRS is mostly likely to field party’s constituency in-charge Bhupal Reddy. He has already launched campaign. TTDP has decided to field former MLA Vijayapal Reddy. The by-election was necessitated due to the demise of sitting MLA Kishta Reddy.
