Justice Raja Elango of the High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday refused to enlarge on bail the accused in the case of assaulting young girls by luring them on the pretext of providing jobs and education.

The judge was dealing with a bail petition filed by the accused Kalakanda Madhu. The ‘SHE’ Team and Cyber Crime police arrested Madhu (33), a former employee of Food Corporation of India, for allegedly harassing sexually more than 300 girls on the pretext of securing them employment.

Opposing the bail, Additional Public Prosecutor said the accused had assaulted more than 300 girls, particularly students of SSC and Intermediate by downloading their personal details through the internet and falsely introducing himself as an education counsellor.

He said the petitioner managed to get details of about 5,000 girls and investigation was still going on and if enlarged on bail, there was a possibility that he could indulge in similar offences. The judge considered the contentions of the prosecutor and dismissed the bail petition.
