‘Maha Harathi’ was held on a colourful note on the banks of River Godavari at Dharmapuri on Sunday evening.
Karimnagar: ‘Maha Harathi’ was held on a colourful note on the banks of River Godavari at Dharmapuri on Sunday evening. Hindu religious leaders, in the presence Datta Peetadhipathi Ganapathi Sachidananda Swamy, offered Harathi to River Godavari. With a view to educate the people about the importance of Godavari River, the Godavari Harathi Utsava Samithi organised this programme.
Besides several pundits from Kashi, scores of people from different parts of the State have participated in the auspicious programme. Earlier, Rudrayagam was performed in the morning. The Utsava Committee has organised cultural programmes which attracted the devotees. Peerini dance was also performed by noted dancers. Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao and others participated in the programme.
