Farmers hold rasta roko
The farmers, whose crops withered away in the villages of Mamunooru, Bheemavaram, Soppagatlapalem and Tegallapadu in Errupalem mandal in the district held a road blockade on the Madhira-Vijayawada Highway on Monday demanding adequate compensation.

Addressing the farmers, leaders of All-Party delegation lashed out at the State government for totally neglecting the farmers who lost their crops in 2000 acres of agricultural land. They said that the farmers were extremely worried as the Errupalem mandal was still not declared as drought hit.
They demanded the top officials to sanction the compensation immediately. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Mandal Tahsildar Sammi Reddy. All-party delegation leaders Sudhakar Reddy, Narasimha Rao, Ramana Reddy and others were present.
