Khammam: The Home Guards Organisation, which was formed initially as a voluntary organisation, has been providing services in all sectors and has become one of the important wings in the police department, said District Superintendent of Police Shahnawaz Qasim here on Sunday.On the occasion of 53rd Home Guards Day, the Home Guards of the district took out a massive rally from Police Parade grounds through Church Compound, Ricca Bazaar High School, Kaman Bazaar and One Town Police Station to the Municipal Office. SP Shahnawaz Qasim received the Honour from the Home Guards on this occasion at Police Parade Grounds.
Speaking on the occasion, the SP said “There is no difference between the police personnel and the Home Guards as far as the services are concerned. We all belong to one family. The services which you are extending for protecting the law and order, crime, traffic, communications and during festivals are excellent.” He requested the Home Guards to deliver their services continuously with the same spirit to increase the image of the police department.
Later the SP had distributed prizes to the Home guards, who became winners in the sports and games competitions that were conducted on the occasion of the Home Guards Day.
