Protect academic atmosphere, urge teachers

Hyderabad: As tension is brewing in the Osmania University over ‘beef’ and ‘pork’ festivals by the students, the university teacher community appealed to the students to protect the academic atmosphere in the campus.

It said the campus was meant for academics and knowledge sharing but not for activities which destroyed the academic atmosphere on the campus. A professor said after several years, the university was gaining its lost glory and any untoward incident would bring back violence in the university which is not good sign.

“Above it, semester exams for the students are on. Students are preparing for it. The festivals may impact the exam schedule,” he added.
