Telangana Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma directed officials to complete all the necessary arrangements for President Pranab Mukherjee’s winter visit to the State from December 18 to 31. A review meeting was held here on Thursday over the arrangements to be made for the President’s visit, which was attended by senior officials from Army, Police, GHMC, Metro Water Works, Health, R&B, Information and Public Relations, SPDCL, APTS, BSNL, Cantonment, Fire, Revenue and other departments.
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma directed officials to complete all the necessary arrangements for President Pranab Mukherjee’s winter visit to the State from December 18 to 31. A review meeting was held here on Thursday over the arrangements to be made for the President’s visit, which was attended by senior officials from Army, Police, GHMC, Metro Water Works, Health, R&B, Information and Public Relations, SPDCL, APTS, BSNL, Cantonment, Fire, Revenue and other departments.
Stressing on the early completion of arrangements, Rajeev Sharma has asked the officials to deploy the staff needed for the completion of preparations, along with security and traffic regulations during the President’s winter stay in the city. He also asked the officials to issue duty passes to the staff by respective departments.
Rajeev Sharma instructed the officials to immediately take up repairs of roads that the President is likely to travel to different parts of the twin cities, erecting barricades, construction of helipads and to take up special sanitation drives in the areas that the first citizen is likely visit.
The Revenue officials of Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts were appointed as nodal officers to coordinate with different departments. Similarly, he directed officials to take up immediately the installation of CC cameras, necessary repairs, drinking water supply, electricity, floral decorations and to ensure telephone and computer facilities at Rasthrapati Nilayam.
He said Pranab Mukherjee would attend the convocation ceremony of Military College of Engineering and Electronics and annual meeting of the Indian Economic Association at Prof Jayasankar University on December 27. Rajeev Sharma said the President was also scheduled to attend the Ayutha Chandi Yagam being organised by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Yerravelli village of Medak district.
For this, the Chief Secretary asked the officials to personally visit the places to oversee necessary arrangements. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary GAD Adar Sinha, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad District Collector Rahul Bojja, IGPs Anjani Kumar and Mahesh Bhagawath, Cantonment Board CEO Sujatha Gupta, Protocol Director Arvindar Singh, Information and Public Relations Director V Subhash.
