The accused was identified as V Upender of Gudeppad in Warangal district. He was accused of committing two-wheeler thefts at Bhupalpalli, Parkal, Jangaon, Warangal and Hanamkonda in Warangal district and Jammikunta in Karimnagar district and also in Hyderabad.

Speaking to the media, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, M Yadaiah said that Upender was sent to jail in October for stealing six two-wheelers and was released on bail in November. After being released from jail, he again stole 10 two-wheelers under the Warangal Commissionerate limits, Jangaon, Bhupalpalli and Hyderabad.

Yadaiah said that the accused parked the stolen vehicles at his residence in Gudeppad and hatched a plan to sell one after another to earn money.

On a tip off, the police arrested Upender at the Autonagar while he was coming to Hanamkonda on a vehicle that he stole. During interrogation, he confessed to his crimes, Yadaiah added.

Additional DCP Yadaiah lauded the efforts of CCS Inspector K Sridhar, Sub-Inspector B Suman, head constables T Veeraswamy, K Sivakumar, M Sudhakar, constables K Maheshwar, K Harikanth, B Rajashekar, B Chandrashekar and V Jampaiah for successfully nabbing the accused and presented them cash rewards.

ACP (Crime) K Eshwar Rao and others were present.
