Engineering student arrested for stealing laptops

Hyderabad: An engineering student, who hailed from Prakasam district, was on Thursday arrested by the SR Nagar police for stealing laptops from hostels. Five laptops worth Rs 2 lakh were recovered from theaccused.
G Maheshwar Reddy (23), who is an engineering student at a college in Prakasham district, came to Hyderabad in November and joined Sai Chandra Boys’ hostel in SR Nagar. He took admission at an institute in Ameerpet to learn software testing.
In a span of two weeks, he had stolen five laptops. Basing on the complaints received, the SR Nagar police recovered CCTV camera footage and identified Maheshwar as accused, according to Punjagutta ACP M Venkateshwarlu.
