Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) at Nagpur's International Airport detained three students from Hyderabad on Saturday while they were about to board a flight to Srinagar on suspicion of their alleged plan to join the ISIS terror group.

Telangana Police revealed that the three youngsters were missing from their homes and they had passed on the information to various agencies on Thursday. All three were final-year engineering students, residents of Telangana and were believed to be planning to go to Syria to join ISIS for which they had bought tickets to Srinagar via Delhi. Their family members lodged missing complaints and had found out that they had been following ISIS network on social sites as they were attracted to the terror group.

The Telangana Police and Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) coordinated and detained the trio at the airport who were said to be headed for Afghanistan. The police got evidence suggesting that had planned to join the terror group in Afghanistan. Police took Abdul Wasim, Umar Hassan Farooqui and Zamir Farooqui to the police headquarters for further interrogation and will soon be handed over to Hyderabad Police.
