Hyderabad: Following deportation of 10 Indian students from the US back to India, TRS MP B Vinod Kumar on Friday urged the Centre to take necessary steps to regulate the overseas education.

Listing out the necessary steps to be taken in a letter to the Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, he appealed to the Centre to compile a list of universities in the US and other countries whose courses and degrees are recognised by government. He said this exercise would help students and parents select only such universities which are actually recognised.

The Karimnagar MP urged the Union government to issue an advisory on the government websites for the students to select one or other university. Vinod stated that there was a need to regulate overseas education consultancies which were often misleading students and parents. Such consultants continued to mint money by misleading the students to choose mediocre universities abroad, he said.
