The Hyderabad High Court has set deadline to the Telangana Government that elections to GHMC must be conducted by January 31, 2016. As the date is near and to complete the process before the deadline, the State Election commission is all set to issue the GHMC poll notification within three days.
After a review meeting with election officials and GHMC commissioner B Janardhana Reddy, State Election Commissioner V Nagireddy disclosed this to media on Monday.
"We will follow all the instructions issued by the High Court in this regard," V Nagireddy said. While the GHMC commissioner said that the GHMC had approved 2,90,942 names out of 3,91,369 so far.
