Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has stepped into the formation of the new districts in Telangana and directed the committee to speed up the process.
The committee led by Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma would be meeting next month to announce the new districts in the state. With the public requesting the regions such as Warangal, Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar to be made into districts, it will be up to the committe to decide on which region would be made into districts. The main criteria to form a new district is to have 10 to 12 lakh population in the region.
