Water Board to impose penalties for removing meters

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has warned of impose stiff penalties against the consumers who remove meters. The decision was taken during a meeting conducted by the Board with green brigade agencies, billing and collection agencies and meter readers on Monday.

In the meeting, it was discussed that in some places consumers were removing the meters complaining of low pressure. In some places, meter chambers were not in place enabling easy removal and at some places meter was fixed in wrong direction and therefore meter reading was abnormal.
