Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir alleged that the TRS government was on a mission ‘Damage Hyderabad’. Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office here on Wednesday, Shabbir Ali said Hyderabad had been losing its image since the TRS government had taken over.

From the ‘most preferred IT destination’ to ranking second in the list of ‘must see destinations in the world’, Hyderabad had slipped to a position that it was now being conveniently ignored by the ranking agencies, he said. He also condemned the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for not including Charminar, Golconda or any other heritage site of Telangana into the list of Indian and World Heritage sites.

Shabbir Ali said exclusion of Charminar and Golconda from the ASI list contradicted Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao's claims on ‘Brand Hyderabad’. He said the idea of ‘Brand Hyderabad’ was conceived and perfectly executed by the previous Congress regime which developed world-class infrastructure at a cost of over Rs 1 lakh crore from 2004-2014.

The TRS government had badly damaged the city's image, he said, adding that instead of ‘Brand Hyderabad’, the TRS government was pursuing the mission of ‘Damage Hyderabad’.
