President Pranab Mukherjee's customary 14-day winter sojourn has concluded on December 31, 2015 at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad. The President, in his winter stay participated in several programmes including convocation ceremony at MCEME, inauguration of Ved-Pathshaala at Bheemavaram in AP and few others in Karnataka.
Pranab Mukherjee wanted to attend Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s Ayutha Chandi Maha Yaagam but the breakout of a fire at the venue led to the cancellation of the program. The President was bid a ceremonial send-off at the Hakimpet Airforce Academy by KCR and Governor ESL Narasimhan.
