The city police on Wednesday said that traffic curbs would be put at certain parts of the city to ensure safety of the public and prevent untoward incidents during the New Year eve. In Hyderabad, Necklace road, NTR Marg and Upper Tank bund will be closed from 10 pm on December 31 to 2 am on January 1, 2016.

Hyderabad: The city police on Wednesday said that traffic curbs would be put at certain parts of the city to ensure safety of the public and prevent untoward incidents during the New Year eve.

In Hyderabad, Necklace road, NTR Marg and Upper Tank bund will be closed from 10 pm on December 31 to 2 am on January 1, 2016.

The vehicular traffic coming from the VV Statue towards Necklace road and NTR Marg would be diverted to Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan road. The traffic coming from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg would be diverted to Iqbal Minar, Lakdikapul, Ayodhya.

The traffic coming from Liberty junction towards Secunderabad would be diverted at the MCH Office Y junction towards BRK Bhavan, Telugu Talli Flyover, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya, said City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy. He also said that vehicular traffic coming from Khairatabad market towards Necklace Rotary would be diverted towards Meera talkies lane.

The Mint compound lane adjacent to Secretariat would be closed for general vehicular traffic. The traffic coming from Nallagutta Railway Bridge would be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Ministers Road and the traffic coming from Secunderabad would be diverted at the Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda X Roads, Lower Tank bund, Kattamaisamma Temple, to RTC X roads via Ashok Nagar. The commissioner further said all flyovers would be closed till 5 am on January 1. Buses, lorries and heavy vehicles would not be allowed in Hyderabad till 2 am on January 1.

Meanwhile, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand imposed certain traffic retractions from 11 pm on December 31 to 5 am on January 1, 2016. He said that the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) would be closed for Light Motor Vehicles and passenger vehicles.

Public travelling to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on LMVs would be allowed only on producing tickets with the police and however the other medium and heavy goods vehicles would be allowed. All the flyovers in Cyberabad commissionerate would be closed, he added.
