Telangana Congress leader Venkata Ramana Reddy who recently contested for the Nizamabad MLC seat had withdrawn his nominaton in the last moment. Elaborating the reason behind his withdrawal, the Congress leader said that he was asked by senior leaders from the party including Shabbir Ali to deposit Rs. 2 crores ahead of filing the nomination.
Venkata Ramana Reddy who paid the amount stated that he was asked another Rs 2 crores for ensuring victory ahead of the elections which made him withdraw his nomination. He said that even after withdrawing his nomination, the deposit has not been returned yet and added that he intends to file a complaint to the state Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal regarding the issue.
