Last month, the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has adopted Basar village in Adilabad District to make it 100% Digitally Literate under Digital Telangana Mission Digithon in association with IIIT - Basar.

Last month, the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has adopted Basar village in Adilabad District to make it 100% Digitally Literate under Digital Telangana Mission ‘Digithon’ in association with IIIT - Basar. As part of this initiative, 200 basar villagers were trained on Digital Education on Sunday.

“The first step of making the idea of Digitalization of Basar ‘Digithon’ was lead forward by the active participation of RGUKT Basar Student Digital Leaders along with the guidance of TITA and CSC. Along with the students in the village, Sarpanch of Basar accompanied with the villagers. The beneficiaries that visited the campus click more than 200 members on head. The day was literally lighted with the usage of Laptops that are available in Basar campus. The villagers showed their enthusiasm in learning about the computer and its needs.” said Sundeep Kumar Makthala.

“The Day which was enlightened with the smiles in the premises of RGUKT Basar campus with the young and Dynamic up growing generation of our country, the students from Basar on Sunday, 3rd January of 2016. The volunteer gave description about the components of the Laptop visually. Later they taught them to make use of MS Office components such as Word, Excel and even they showed them how to use Paint in the computer. As the starting class of the programme, the lectures limited to just basic minimum usage of computer. When the programme progresses, the lectures will be maximized make people to use the laptop and internet for their basic needs. The aim of the programme will be achieved by the RGUKT Students with the collaboration and guidance of TITA and CSC with the dedication that was showed towards the event. The involvement of Digital Leader Volunteers counted 70 from RGUKT, this showed their eagerness in digitalizing the villagers and is a part of Digital India/Digital Telangana Campaign.” said Basar IIIT Digithon coordinator Mr. Sai Kiran.

Basar Sarpanch Sailaja Satish Rao, Deputy Sarpanch, IIIT Officials Sai Kiran, Murthy, Madhu Yadav, Karunakar and others participated in the event.
