KTRHyderabad: IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday said there should be no hunger deaths in the State for which the TRS government was committed to spend any amount of money to address the perpetual problems of food scarcity, famine and poverty.

Along with Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Rama Rao inaugurated Bhojanamritha – a modern kitchen - by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) at Narsingi village in Ranga Reddy district here.

Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao lauded the efforts of the ISKCON for mass feeding and helping the poor to get rid of hunger. “Through this new programme, the ISKCON is all set to provide food to 50,000 people every day. We need to build a society that helps people from hunger problems,” he said.

Rama Rao said no person in Telangana State should face starvation problem. The government, he said, would address the problems of the poorest of the poor to get them two square meals a day.

The government had decided to take food from Bhojanamritha to cater to the needs of Hamali workers and farmers in market yards, Rs 5-a-meal scheme being offered by the GHMC at various places in the twin cities for those who cannot afford, he said.

The poor should not be depressed by hunger, malnutrition, health and other daunting problems, he added.
