Suspense over District Forest Officer’s transfer continues
The suspense surrounding the transfer of District Forest Officer Shivani Dogre from Medak, has become a topic for discussion these days. Shivani, who has been working as Medak DFO since February last year, was transferred last month.

Though the transfer orders were issued on December 18, Sridhar Rao, who is currently working as an Assistant Conservator in Hyderabad, is yet to receive the orders to be posted as the DFO of Medak, according to sources.It may be recalled that three forest officials were booked on corruption charges by the ACB last year in Medak division’s Narsapur range. The reason behind Shivani Dogre’s transfer is also believed to be related to corruption within the department.
According to sources, some of the senior range officers have been trying hard to prevent Sridhar Rao from taking charge of Medak, so that they can continue the status-quo. Of late, there have been serious allegations on the negligent attitude of forest officials towards their duties. This could be seen in the ever-decreasing forest cover in the district.
