The year 2015 was a consolidation for Telangana, as the revenue surplus state reeled under drought conditions due to deficit of rainfall, the government has declared in 231 mandals of seven out of 10 districts and the Central team visited the State to assess the situation. It has sought the central assistance of Rs.3000 crore.

The State has also sought input subsidy for farmers in 231 mandals and raising the number of working days under MNREGA to 200 days, besides granting the National status to major irrigation projects of the State.
The State has launched many newly welfare and development programmes for the State’s ‘reconstruction’ during the 18 months since its formation from 02-06-2014 onwards as the State was discriminated during combined State of Andhra Pradesh, now they have started taking shape in the second year of the new state.
The State announced slew of decisions and programmes for the benefit of various section of the people. Promising to build a “Bangaru Telangna”, the government initiated “Mission Kakatiya” for restoration of 46000 tanks and other water bodies in next five years. It also initiated “ Mission Bhagritya” scheme to supply piped drinking water to every household in the State.
The incumbent government had also vowed not to seek votes in the next elections if it failed to provide piped drinking water to every household and these two flagship programmes are different states of implementation.
Another major achievement is providing Two-Bed Room houses for the poor and a model colony of such flats in IDH, Bolarum has been constructed in Hyderabad and possession has been given to the beneficiaries.
The roaring success of the government is constant supply of power to the citizens during the year against the predictions by some that Telangana would be power-starved after its formation. It is also planning to give power supply nine hours during the day time to the agricultural pump sets.
The set back is that hundreds of farmers committed suicide due to agrarian crisis in the State. Though it cleared the waived loan Rs.4500 as the first installment out of Rs.17000 crore, is planning to settle the balance amount at one go.
With launching of T-Hub, an incubation centre for start-ups, which received appreciation from different quarters of the world . Moreover, the New Industrial Policy got encouraging response from entrepreneurs during the year by which it has expanded the brand value of Hyderabad. The Policy, for the first time, provides applicants the right to timely clearances.It also received a fillip with the Technology giant Google announcing its decision to build a new campus in the City.
The ruling party retained the Warangal Lok Sabha constituency with a massive majority in a recent by poll. On the political front, Congress and TDP have filed disqualification petitions against them with the Speaker. Main Opposition Congress, which is yet to recover from the defeat in last year's elections despite "delivering" on the statehood demand, is in disarray after the shock loss in the Warangal by poll.
The years also end with arrest of TDP MLAs in the state in the alleged cash-for-vote scandal. An audio clip purportedly containing the voice of party President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister appeared on some news channels.
In the corporate sector, Hyderabad-based Dr Reddy's Laboratories, the country's second largest drug maker, came under scanner of USFDA for alleged violation of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) at three of its manufacturing plants located in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here, operated by the GMR Group, crossed 10 million passenger mark during the year. In the sports arena, Hyderabad's Sania Mirza had a dream run during the year as she became the world number one tennis player in women's doubles.
The State also received best promising State of the year and got set back with ranking of 14 in ease of doing business.
