Khammam: CPI (M) district committee secretary P Sudarshan Rao accused the State government of foisting false cases against the leaders of Opposition parties.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said: “The government is using the police to intimidate the Opposition leaders in the district. The government is trying to bulldoze the agitations whenever the Opposition parties are trying to raise the issues of the people.”

Referring to the cases against 68 Left party leaders including CPI (M) Kothagudem division secretary Annavarapu Satyanarayana, CPI district joint secretary Sk Sabir Pasha and CPI-ML New Democracy leader Sanjeev, he alleged that government was trying to foist five more cases against the Left party leaders. He said that government has no tolerance in regard with the agitations carried out by the Opposition parties.

“Though the court ordered to identify the beneficiaries of double bedroom houses through Gram Sabhas, Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkata Rao is trying to benefit TRS activists,” the CPM district secretary alleged. He urged the district Collector to look into the irregularities.

He also demanded that the government should conduct Khammam Municipal Corporation elections along with the Greater Hyderabad civic polls. State committee memberPonnam Venkateswara Rao, Rythu Sangham Telangana State joint secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao and senior leader AJ Ramesh were among others present.
