KCR said the redesigning of irrigation projects has reached the completion stage. “We will soon sign an agreement with the Maharashtra government regarding the Kaleshwaram Project proposed across the river Godavari,” he said. The Chief Minister was reviewing development works in the district at a private function hall in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.

The marathon review meeting was held till late in the evening, during which the CM launched a website: medaramjathara.com for Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. He said the redesigning of the Kaleshwaram Project would benefit Warangal the most. Special emphasis would be laid on all-round growth of Warangal district, which would get Rs 300 annually in the budget towards development works, he added

The city would be made a slum-free city by 2017 by accommodating all slum dwellers in double bed houses. An outer ring road would be laid around the city soon. Road, sanitation, burial grounds and bus bays would be developed. Consultants from Hyderabad would be sent here to develop the city in a planned manner, the CM said.

Soon the works on the Kaloji Health University would be launched. A super-specialty hospital on par with NIMS would be set up in Warangal, KCR said and directed the officials to prepare plans for the same. The CM has also directed the officials to ensure smooth conduct of Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara and enquired about the arrangements being made for the Jatara.

He reviewed the progress of Mission Bhagiratha, second phase of Mission Kakatiya, and major irrigation works. He asked the MLAs to closely monitor the works of Mission Bhagiratha.
