APGVBOA relay hunger strike enters 10th day

Warangal: The relay hunger strike undertaken by the members of APGVB Officers Association (APGVBOA) and APGVB Employees Association (APGVBEU) has entered the 10th day on Wednesday.

The officers and employees association members, Sanyasi Rao, Vinod Kumar, Bhujanga Rao, S Sharma, Suresh and Shravan Kumar from Srikakulam region were on hunger strike at the bank's head office in Hanamkonda.

The APGVBEU and APGVBOA general secretaries K Bhikshamaiah and N Prakasam have launched the hunger strike on the 10th day. Speaking on the occasion, they strongly condemned the negligent and indifferent attitude of the managements of the APGVB and its sponsor bank State Bank of India towards the striking employees.

They demanded the managements to take up immediate measures to resolve the problems of the employees. Appointment of staff should be made on the basis of the recommendations made by the Thorat Committee and Mitra Committee. They sought parity in wages and allowances to the rural bank staff on par with commercial banks, reimbursement of conveyance/ petrol bill on par with commercial banks, promotions to all the staff members.
