Warangal: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao here on Wednesday announced that the government would build a posh journalists colony with spacious and modern two-bedroom houses for journalists free of cost in Warangal. It would make Hyderabad journalists feel envious of modern housing colony which would come up in Warangal.
Talking to media persons, KCR announced amidst wild applause that the government would grant entire expenses for the journalists housing colony and the scribes need not pay even a rupee. He said, “I will lay a foundation stone in February and complete construction of journalists housing colony in 11 months and get them registered on the names of wives of the scribes free of cost.”
It is pertinent to note here that KCR recently told media persons in Hyderabad that he would prefer to offer housing facilities inprime locality of the city rather than on the outskirts. KCR also vowed to provide similar Journalist housing colonies in Hyderabad and other districts too.
Stating that he would personally supervise the construction of colony in 50 to 60 acres to help 600 to 1,000 scribes own houses, KCR said all journalists would be treated on equal footing.”
Suggesting that the journalists sink their difference, the Chief Minister asked the journalist to submit a single list of scribes who include those working in the field, videographers, photographers and anchors, etc. The colony would be equipped with modern facilities, likeinternet, community hall, market, shopping complex and others. “Journalists welfare is paramount for us and they must cover the development activities comprehensively,” he exhorted.
