Warangal: BJP former MLAs T Rajeswar Rao and M Dharma Rao have demanded the TRS government to release a ‘White Paper’ on the expenditure of central funds by the State.

They took serious exception to the statements by Minister K Taraka Rama Rao and MP K Kavitha, who accused the Centre of neglecting Telangana and not providing sufficient funds to the State. About 67 per cent of the funds, being spent by the State, were from the Centre, they said.

Speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Thursday, they described the promises made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during his three-day visit to the district as bundle of lies and meant to deceive the public here while making caustic remarks against him.

The CM must stop duping people of Warangal district. A long list of promises made by the CM in the past was waiting to be fulfilled. No promise was delivered during the 19 months TRS rule. ‘Instead of making tall promises he should have spent time to reviewing the progress of his promises,’ they said.

Chandrashekar Rao promised to lay underground drainage in Warangal within 100 days of assuming power. The Centre gave consent and gave 50 percent funding for the project worth Rs 2,133 crore. But the State government was unable to give a detailed project report (DPR) on it, said Rajeshwara Rao.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced Rs 43,000 crore for 1,800 kilometres national highways in Telangana and laid foundation stone for four-lane road between Yadagirigutta to Warangal, worth Rs 1,905 crores. ‘Not a single rupee is contributed by the State,’ Dharma Rao stated.

Yet the TRS leaders were accusing the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of neglecting the State and it was totally unfair. The Centre has prepared a blue print for investing Rs 6,500 crore to establish a massive Textile Park and sought 2,000 acres land.

But there was no progress acquiring the land needed, he added saying at least now the CM should focus delivering promises. The leaders opposed demolishing collectorate building and implement Master Plan in Warangal.
