Hyderabad: Countering the challenge thrown by the Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj K T Ramarao , the TBJP on Friday claimed that the centre has so far given Rs 1 lakh crore financial assistance to the State government.

Speaking to media here on Friday, the state BJP president G Kishan Reddy said that they will go to the people soon with the details of how much the centre had given and for which scheme. He also said that most of the welfare schemes announced by the State including housing were being funded by the centre.

He said TRS is making it a habit to blame the centre and alleging that it was not helping the state. According to Reddy, the TRS continues to play on the sentiments of the people and was adopting all kinds of undemocratic methods to win the GHMC elections.

The BJP, he said was ready for a debate on the issue. Reddy also said that the government was violating all protocols while inaugurating various schemes. He said for the sake of promoting KTR, even the city leaders including Deputy Chief Minister were being sidelined during inauguration programmes or launching of various schemes.

On asked why the Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not visit the State even once, Kishan Reddy said that he would be coming to lay the foundation stone for Urea plant that would come up in the state soon.

To a question whether it was not a fact that the BJP was also using the two bedroom housing scheme as a trump card for garnering votes in GHMC elections, Reddy said that in the absence of guidelines, poor people in the constituencies represented by BJP MLAs were thronging to the meetings organised by the party as well as to the BJP office with applications.
