Hyderabad: The Osmania University on Friday made it clear that it would not re-conduct semester examinations for the MSc students who did not turn up to take examinations held in December, 2015.

It may be mentioned here that the students demanded that the university administration should postpone the examinations as there wasn’t enough time for preparation. As the university remained hell bent on its decision not to postpone, the students boycotted examinations.

There were representations to the university administration from Osmania University Teachers Association (OUTA), Telangana Vidyarthi Parishad (TGVP) and others to re-conduct exams for those who boycotted.

However, OU In-charge Vice-Chancellor Rajeev R Acharya stated that academic schedule was placed on the university website and circulated to the colleges well in advance. Moreover, thousands of students belonging to OU affiliated colleges have already appeared for the exams, she said.

“The students were fully aware of the schedule of internals, practical and final examinations. Since all of them have appeared for the practical examinations that were conducted according to the almanac from December 7, 2015, there is no need to re-conduct exams.

They can appear for I and III semester exams along with their II and IV Semester exams respectively,” she said.
