Mahbubnagar: State Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, said here on Wednesday that the government would take steps to regularise the contract employees. A circular was sent to all departments in the district to submit within one month the details relating to contract employees, he said.

He said the government, after studying the reports from the district, would take a decision on regularisation of contract employees within a month, he said. As for division of employees between the Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh, Rajiv Sharma said “almost 80 per cent of works was completed.”

The Chief Minister visited Mahbubunagar district to take stock of the development works being implemented. starting right from Kadthal mandal, where district Collector T K Sridevi, received the Chief Secretary, he drove to Kollapur to witness a photo exhibition at R & B guest house, depicting various development works which were either completed or under implementation. He visited Kalwakarthy phase-1, 2, 3 lift irrigation projects.

“I am happy at the pace of works being executed,” The Kalwakurthy lift irrigation project phase-1 was completed with 99 per cent works was executed. Only one per of work was being held up due to technical reasons.

The Chief Secretary along with the district officials also visited the Narlapur and Jonnalgadda reservoirs. He visited MGNREA work sites to interact with the workers and enquired about the number of days they were being employed and the payments for the labourers under the employment guarantee scheme.

After the whirlwind tour, the Rajiv Sharma along with district Collector took part in a review meeting with the officials at the district headquarters. He said that the tenders for Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift irrigation scheme projects would be called soon. The project is taken up at a huge cost of Rs 27,000 crores and has 18 packages under various phases.
