Khammam: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) State leader Satyanarayana had alleged that some people who were involved in anti-social activities were responsible for the suicide of the Vemula Rohith who had been pursuing PhD in Hyderabad Central University but not the BJP party and its leaders.

Speaking to the media at press club here on Tuesday, Satyanarayana said, “When the Supreme Court had given its judgment of death sentence to Yakub Memon who was responsible for the Mumbai tragic incident, some of the organisations like ASA and other groups had opposed the judgment of the apex court and conducted a protest in the Hyderabad Central University.

“In response to that, ABVP president Susheel had posted comments saying that some of the organisations like ASA (Ambedkar Student Association) were encouraging terrorists like Yakub Memon in the country,” Satyanarayana said. He also said, “Reacting to Susheel’s comments, nearly 100 members of the ASA organisation had attacked Susheel in his hostel. Susheel was injured seriously during the attack and was admitted in Akshara Hospital of Madinaguda and took treatment for eight days to recover.”

When ABVP activists demanded action against those responsible for the attack, the university disciplinary committee after an inquiry suspended the five students who were responsible for attacking Susheel. One of them was Rohith who committed suicide.” “There are number of Dalit students in ABVP.

The fight is not between the Dalit and ABVP students, it is between the ABVP and the persons who are involved in anti-social activities and those who are against the nation,” he added. ABVP leaders Srikanth, Sudheer, Ganapathi, Eshwar and Vanavasi Cell Convenor Pridhvi were present along with others in the press meet.
