Hyderabad: TPCC chief official spokesperson Dasoju Sravan Kumar questioned Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu why they were not responding to Rohith’s suicide, though the leaders across the nation were responding to it.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Sravan found fault with MLC Ramchander Rao and Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, who politicised the two student unions issue by addressing letters and entering into the university premises, for stating that the Congress was politicising the university issue.

He said the Opposition leaders - Rahul Gandhi, Seetharam Yechuri, Asaduddin Owaisi, YSRCP leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy and others - visited the university after Rohith’s death but the two Telugu Chief Ministers were not responding to it. He alleged that Chandrashekar Rao, who had time to visit cloth shop leisurely, had no time to react to a research scholar’s suicide.

“Both the Chief Ministers have the responsibility to respond,” he said and alleged that the BJP government was scripting conspiracies for Dalit students’ suicides. He also alleged that maintaining silence by the two Chief Ministers also was part of the conspiracy.
