Nalgonda: Members of families, who were proposed to be displaced for national highway construction from Maharashtra to Renigunta, took out a protest rally from Panagal to Clock Tower Centre in the town on Saturday. Praja Rakshana Samithi (PRS) led them.

The demonstrators raised slogans demanding change in the alignment of National Highway to avert the displacement of their residences.
Speaking on the occasion, PRS state president Nune Venkata Swamy said that new national highway, whose works are under progress, is going through residential areas at several points, causing displacement of hundreds of families.

Pointing out that the places through which national highway 65 passes were turned out to be accident-prone areas in the district, Swamy demanded the government to change the road alignment to stop the occurrence of accidents.
